Bule (pronounced bull-ay) strictly translated from Indonesian means 'albino', though 'foreigner', 'European' or plain ole 'whitey' is more accurate. After six months of sitting pretty in Jakarta I now respond to it like it's my second name.
I'm a young Australian writer/journalist in South Jakarta trying to find the key to making sense of Indonesian party politics (there is none) and finding the best soto ayam (Ibu Ana's I'm pretty sure).
Interested in Southeast Asian politics and economics, Australian regional foreign policy and Jakarta's rooftop bars.
Please let me write for you, especially if it's paid. Make it rain rupiah.
